This Barred Owl was laying on the side of the road for two days, looking much like a carcass when a commuter stopped to check on him. He was alive, but his bill was caked with dried blood, and he was extremely concussed. We hydrated and fed him via syringe for two days and soon he was able to stand and perch and was eating small bits of diced rodents. He is now eating on his own and we are confident he will make a full recovery!
We are the only wildlife rehabilitation group in Northeast Florida licensed to care for birds. We are facing a crushing demand for our services and getting ready for baby season. For raptors alone,
we spend thousands of dollars a year on rodents. Please help us help the orphaned, injured, and ill wild birds of northeast Florida by donating at www.thearkrescue.org/donate
