BRENDA AND DARRYL WERE NOT EASTER EGG HUNTING. THEY WERE ON A WILD GOOSE CHASE. :)

April 17, 2017

One of the biggest death traps for little ducklings and goslings are the manmade retention ponds with wood, brick, stone or corregated steel walls. You've seen them ... water right up to a wall on all sides. No way out for little ducklings or goslings that cannot follow mom out of the pond after innocently jumping in behind her. These fluffy babies cannot fly.

Brenda and Darryl Harden spe...nt their Easter Sunday helping one sweet gosling out of just such a trap. Mom and Dad Goose were standing desperately by calling and calling to a baby that simply could not follow. The kind folks at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation loaned Darryl a kayak and he went to work chasing the frightened gosling around the pond until he could bring it to safety. YAY!!! Brenda and Darryl were able to reunite baby and parents which was about as wonderful an Easter experience as it gets <3

THANK YOU SO MUCH BRENDA AND DARRYL FOR SAVING A LIFE ON EASTER SUNDAY
