One of our latest intakes is this feisty character who is a first year Northern Gannet. He came in with what appeared to be a badly broken wing but Dr. Deckard was able to manipulate the wing out of its contorted position and he's feeling much much better now. It takes a gannet 5 years to become the white, exotic looking bird that most people think of when they hear the name. This young bird will stay with us just long enough to let him rest any soft tissue damage to his wing and then he will be freed to soar and dive and fish, something his kind excels at!
